Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Ar-Risalah: Journal of Islamic Education undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which both the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential to ensure an objective assessment. The review process consists of the following stages:

  1. Initial Screening by the Editor

The submitted manuscript is checked for its relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, formatting compliance, and originality using plagiarism detection tools.

  1. Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field.

  1. Review Process

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript’s academic quality, methodology, scientific contribution, and relevance. Review outcomes may include:

    1. Accepted without revision
    2. Accepted with minor revision
    3. Accepted with major revision
    4. Rejected
  1. Revision by Author

Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts based on the reviewers’ comments within a specified timeframe. The revised manuscript may be re-evaluated by the editor or the reviewers.

  1. Final Decision

The final decision is made by the editor based on the reviewers' recommendations. Accepted manuscripts proceed to the editing, layout, and publication stages.

The entire review process typically takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the responsiveness of both authors and reviewers.
